Two Tone Appeal

The Belgrade’s hit 2 Tone musical is coming back, but they are asking for your help! Inspired by the music of The Selecter, The Specials and the 2 Tone scene, Three Minute Heroes will be back at the Belgrade Theatre in October. The theatre are now looking for any pictures, album covers or any other items you may have to possibly use on the set for the play. Coventry Half Marathon Start 2014

More than 2,000 runners took to the streets of Coventry on Sunday March 23rd 2014, to take part in the city’s half marathon. They were sent on their way shortly after 9am by Coventry Lord Mayor Gary Crookes and John Dalziel of Free Radio. This video shows the all runners across the start line, so if you took part see if you can find yourself! Later, Aaron Scott, from Stamford, cross the line in first place in a time of 1.09.36. The new route included a loop of the city centre, a scenic rural section and a downhill stretch for the final stages and according to some runners a lot of hills!  Watch video >>

Reclaim the Night - Coventry

Nearly half of women living in Coventry do not feel safe on its streets at night. In a march to 'Reclaim the Night', more than a hundred women walked through city centre to voice their concerns. Coventry TV was there.  Watch video >>

A Blitz Survivor's Story

Brenda Whiteley was 10 and living in Hillfields when the family's home was destroyed on the night in November 1940 when the Blitz hit Coventry. The family then moved into Lower Ford Street, where eventually their V E Day street party was held. In this video she remembers vividly that night and the days that followed.  Watch video >>

Threat to Coventry Swimming Pool

Coventry Sports and Leisure Centre was built in 1966 and since has become an iconic landmark. Coventry City Council has recently announced plans to replace the centre, demolishing the original, and rebuilding elsewhere in the city.
